Unlocking the Video Capabilities of Your Mirrorless Camera
Description
Join Nikon Ambassador Kristi Odom for a two hour class designed for photographers who are curious about video and ready to explore what their mirrorless camera is truly capable of.
This class focuses on helping you get started with video by understanding the tools already in your hands. Kristi will help you make sense of frame rates and show how filming in 120 and 240 fps can reveal details you might otherwise miss, like the wind blowing in the feathers of a bird in flight. She will cover resolution options, from starting simple to working with 8K files that allow heavy cropping, showing you even the fingerprints of monkeys. You will also learn which file types to use and how to adjust in camera settings so you can confidently switch from stills to video when the moment calls for it. The goal is to remove the mystery around video and help you feel comfortable pressing the record button.
Kristi will also walk through what happens after you stop recording, including a beginner friendly overview to editing in DaVinci Resolve. This portion is designed to help you understand how to get your clips into an editor and create a basic edit. This is not an advanced editing class. Instead, it is a practical starting point for anyone who wants to begin shooting video with intention and better understand the creative potential of their mirrorless camera.
Hosted by Mike's Camera in partnership with Nikon, this class is ideal for photographers who are new to video and looking for a clear, supportive introduction.
Come curious. Leave with ideas and inspiration.
