About Fujifilm Product Technical Expert Tommy Spencer:

‍

With 33 years of photography experience under his belt, Tommy’s formative years were shaped by documenting the Portland skateboard and music scenes in the 90s on black and white film. This desire to document subcultures led him to pursue a degree in photography and graphic design from the University of Oregon where he was able to learn the beginnings of digital photography. Out of college, Tommy found himself working as a lighting assistant for some of Portland’s top product photographers and taking on the role of lead photographer and head retoucher for a school-based photography company.

Fast forward a decade or so and Tommy’s journey into photography education would begin when he joined Photo Club PDX as a founding member. He honed his educator skills briefly at Lensbaby and continued to teach classes virtually throughout the early 2020s. With classes that cover a broad range of topics, Tommy joins the rest of the Field Product Technical Expert team at Fujifilm in delivering classes that highlight Fujifilm’s products strengths and special technical qualities.
