‍Seeing Light (Advanced Looking at Light and Advanced Exposure Value)

Dive deeper into your photographic journey in this third-level photography class. This class will explore Seeing Light, Metering and Advanced Exposure Value.

Designed for photographers who have taken Photography 101 and 201 or who have sufficient understanding of basic aperture, shutter speed and ISO settings and who want to learn more about light and properly exposing for it.

‍

In Photography 301, Brian will review and build upon his dashboard approach to setting up the camera so you are ready for the decisive moment. He will begin by asking you to start seeing light and looking at light. After a thorough overview “Light” and how it affects your images, this class will show you “How To” set your camera to see the Light, the way you see the light.

This is a One-Part Class. This single, in-depth session provides a complete foundation on how to see light and properly capture what you see. You’ll learn to identify the direction, quality, and character of light through demonstration and discussion, followed by a live Q&A session with the instructor.

The class features a 2-hour live lecture and demonstration, followed by 30 minutes of interactive Q&A, giving participants time to review concepts, analyze examples, and discuss techniques directly with Brian.

Brian is a certified photographic consultant and The Industrial Sales Manager at Mike's Camera in Boulder. Brian is a seasoned photographer and a lead instructor at Mike's Camera. He is well known for his enthusiasm and passionate instruction style and brings over 20 years of experience in various photographic disciplines including event photography, portraiture, macro and street photography. His work has appeared in one-man shows, group exhibits and has been published in national and local magazines.
