It starts with class instruction at your Local Mike's Camera and is followed by a private, early morning, up-close animal experience and day at Denver Zoo! We’ll provide hands-on photography instruction and you’ll share your best images at the final in-store gallery showing and critique.

Includes a 12x18-inch matted print of a favorite image from your day's photography session, plus a $10 coupon you can use towards anything in-store, at any Mike's Camera location!

What to Bring

  • Your camera(s) with extra memory cards and Batteries
  • A variety of lenses from telephoto and zoom to prime and macro
  • Tripod/Monopod; suggested, but not required
  • Water, snacks and/or sack lunch. Food and refreshments can also be purchased at many of the Zoo stores
  • Hat to protect from the sun, sunscreen, light raincoat or appropriate clothing for the season
  • Comfortable shoes

Seminar at Mike's Camera:

Join us at 6.30pm for instruction on how to capture the best images of the wildlife at the Denver Zoo. your instructor will give you tips and tricks to prepare you for the best interactions with the animals.

Sunday at the Zoo:

Meet at 8:00AM at the Main Gate for an exclusive photo session before the Zoo opens. You can walk the Zoo with your instructors and get some of the best shots while the animals are active in the morning hours.

Critique and Gallery showing at Mike's Camera:

Showcase your favorite images and talk to your fellow students about how they captured their shot and what made it their first place selection. Your instructor will give you pointers and praise on your images and allow you to share the vision that caused you to capture that shot.
