Composition is what draws our eye to every great image. Learn the ins and outs of color contrast, dynamic symmetry, the golden ratio and diamond, odd number compositions, convergence, and line compositions, and how they relate to a great image.
Session1: Theory Seminar & Assignment
This seminar will focus on the principles of exposure and the different types of compositions that are possible. You’ll become familiar with different approaches to composition and framing. The following topics will be discussed:
You will also receive an assignment for the following week: Submit an image of your choosing for discussion in Session 2. The photo must be taken in the week between Session 1 and Session 2.
Session2: Critique and Round Table
Put your knowledge to the test! In this seminar, the submitted images will be displayed for the class, and discussed by the instructor and the group. We will look at key uses of composition in the submitted images and discuss each one. Each class attendee is encouraged to be vocal during this session, as it is geared towards discussion.
