Class #3: Food Photography: Learn to Taste with Your Eyes!

If you are interested in learning more about how to take appetizing food photos, then this class is just what you’ve been waiting for. Whether you are new to photography or are experienced but want to learn more about how to approach food as a subject, this class will help take your food photos to the next level.

During this class, we will:

  • Understand how the careful selection of aperture best shows off your food.
  • Be able to manage shutter speed to control movement.
  • Make sure everything that needs to be sharp is sharp!
  • Control color through white balance, Picture Style, and an understanding of your environment.
  • See what I would recommend for lenses and accessories.
  • Learn some simple lighting solutions to fit the mood.
  • Get tips on how to style food, prepare for and manage your shoot

About your Instructor:

Tyler Beck is a Canon Product Educator with a background in video production. After spending much time around photography growing up, he decided to challenge himself with the world of videography. He received a Bachelor Science degree in Mass Media Digital Film Production in 2012. While spending his time learning the ins and outs of cameras, he was the Cinematographer and Editor of Downtown: A Documentary Film.

Mike's Camera Dublin.

This class teaches street photography techniques in a range of different cities and environments.  We will also discuss cameras and lenses to use, camera settings and street etiquette.  There will be visual examples shown as well as ways to get creative with your images!

Intermediate Level photographers will be comfortable taking this course. If you have had an intro to photography course before, Learning the Variables course, or shoot in Av, Tv, M, or P modes, this course is for your skill level.

Class #2: Architecture Photography!

Mike's Camera Sacramento

A simple guide to shooting architecture, this class goes over Gear, Lenses, Shooting, and Editing. We discuss what gear I take to every shoot, what lenses I use, and what the differences are and why I use certain lenses. The shooting section is an illustrated look at the mode I use and the step-by-step process I use for Capture. Editing looks at RAW Capture and Final Image to illustrate how an image should be presented.

This class is for anyone interested in capturing better Architectural images, regardless of skill level, camera brand or type.

Peter has over a decade of experience working with Canon’s printers and imaging products before he joined the camera product educator team in 2013. As a Canon technical representative, he is a passionate teacher and enjoys interacting with everyone from full time professionals to beginners. He enjoys various genres of photography including: architecture, aerospace, food, landscape, portraiture, macro, sports and travel.
