Overview

The purpose of this class is to help new users of DJI drones to quickly get up in the air utilizing their new drone to its maximum potential. You will learn step by step operations of navigating the DJI GO4 application, preflight operations, basic and advanced flight modes to fully maximize all the tools at your disposal while in flight.

 

This class is designed for users of DJI models including Phantom 3, Phantom 4, Mavic Pro, Mavic Platinum, Mavic air, and Spark.

 

While we will discuss the reasons to obtain a part 107 commercial drone pilot license it is important to note this is NOT a part 107 prep class.

 

What you’ll learn – Seminar.

  • FAA Regulations for hobbyist pilots
  • Part 107 Commercial license differences (not a part 107 prep class)
  • Basic terminology
  • Preflight setup and operations
  • DJI Go 4 app in-depth guide
  • Video settings, quality, and modes
  • Photo settings, quality, and modes
  • Basic flight modes
  • Basic controls/operations
  • Manual vs auto takeoff & landing
  • Advanced flight modes (eg; follow me, the point of interest, home point, tripod)
  • Essential accessories

 

What you’ll do – Flight.

  • Preflight checks
  • Compass and IMU calibration
  • Auto vs Manual takeoffs and landings
  • Basic controller operations
  • Utilizing Advanced flight modes (eg; follow me, point of interest, home point, tripod)
  • Collision avoidance

Because of the hands-on nature of this workshop, this workshop is limited to 10 people.

 

 

About Your Instructor

Robert is a passionate and accomplished photographer. He shoots professionally in fields such as fight & sports photography (Muay Thai, mixed martial arts and boxing), product photography, and is well versed in studio shooting. Some of the photography Rob is most passionate about capturing the world around us all, and the experiences of life. He accomplishes this and helps teach other to be successful by using all the tools available to a modern photographer/videography including utilizing aerial photography/videography to gain new prospective. Along with photo Robert is accomplished video and drone expert ranging from commercial work to travel photography/videography. He is a certified commercial drone pilot with over three years of flight experience. He is a certified Adobe professional and has well over a decade of experience with post processing techniques through Adobe and many other software packages. He has been teaching for over nine years and has been working in the industry for over 16 years. You'll find if you're in any of his classes he is passionate and enthusiastic about photography and helping you to learn how to capture your life's moments and preserve them.
