Wings & Petals Macro Photography Workshop at the Butterfly Pavilion
Join Mike's Camera and The Butterfly Pavilion for a three-part macro workshop. This class includes a Thursdayevening classroom instruction at Mike’s Camera followed by a Sunday morning walking tour of The Butterfly Pavilion, Colorado’s only Tropical Rainforest, and a follow up critique session to review images by the group shot on Sunday.
Thursday’s Class at Mike’s Camera in Boulder will include guidelines and tips for better picture taking at the Butterfly Pavilion. This lecture will include tips on how to achieve better results while shooting at the Butterfly Pavilion, tips for the proper macro equipment to photograph the butterflies, insects, arachnids, marine invertebrates and flowers, both indoors as well as on the outdoor nature trails. In addition, we will tools and accessories that will help you in capturing better images and discuss composition, and exposure value.
Sunday’s Workshop at the Butterfly Pavilion will be led by Mike’s Camera staff members Mike Dobson and Brian Rabin. Working with Brian and Mike, you’ll have the opportunity to photograph insects and arachnids in the “Crawl–a-see-em” area, the marine invertebrates living in the Water’s Edge or one of the 1600 live butterflies or 200 plant species in the 7,200 square-foot Tropical Rainforest; Wings of the Tropics. The Mike’s Camera staff will always be nearby to assist you with technical questions and provide hands-on instruction to ensure you execute best practices and capture the best shot possible.

Butterfly Pavilion workshops are limited to 25 photographers, 12 years and older. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a paying adult 18 years or older.
