Wildlights Evening Photography Workshop at the Denver Zoo
Instruction, on-site photography of Wildlights and Light Painting
A photography workshop with emphasis on making the most while exploring Exposure Value to achieve more pleasing photographs and Painting with Light for creative control. The evening’s lecture will be followed by an exclusive opportunity to photograph animals at the Denver Zoo up close at Exploration Station, and then a walkabout on the grounds to capture the beautiful Zoo lights. This workshop is brought to you by Denver Zoo and Mike’s Camera.
Start your evening off with a lecture on Exposure Value, and Painting with light techniques. You’ll learn how to photograph the Zoo Lights utilizing the various combinations of ISO, Shutter Speed and Aperture to manipulate your exposure and capture truly brilliant photographs just in time for the Holidays!
Mike Dobson and Brian Rabin from Mike’s Camera will lead the walk and be available to answer any technical questions you may encounter.
This will be a great opportunity to photograph the dragon light sculpture, dragon moray eel, komodo dragons, bearded dragons, and so much more!

Max Class Size
Photo Safari workshops are limited to 26 photographers. Participation is for those 12 years and older.
Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a paying adult 21 years or older.

About your Instructors
Mike Dobson is the Operations Manager at Mikes Camera. Mike is an experienced photographer, and has a vast knowledge from the camera to the photo lab process to achieving great output from a variety image sources. He has photographed around the world while working on Princess and Norwegian Cruise lines while he was the lead Cruise ship photographer. In addition, Mike is an educator, a wedding photographer, and a published photographer. Mike enjoys, photographing his kids as well as macro and sports photography.
Brian Rabin is a certified photographic consultant, sales person at Mike’s Camera in Boulder, photographer and educator. Brian is a seasoned photographer and a lead instructor at Mike's Camera. Brain is well known for his enthusiasm and passionate instruction style and brings over 20 years of experience in various photographic disciplines including event photography, portraiture, macro and street photography. His work has appeared in one-man shows, group exhibits and has been published in national and local magazines.
