Denver Chalk Art Festival captivates its more than 150,000 visitors who come to watch the asphalt along Larimer Square transform into a bright and colorful street museum. This 8th annual event, which showcases the Italian art of street painting that dates back to the 1600’s, features more than 150 professional, amateur, and student artists who spend hours on their hands and knees recreating works of art using vivid pastel chalks.

Mike’s Camera & Olympus present you the opportunity to be an artist for the weekend with Mike’s Camera Capture the Color Contest. Bring your own camera to La Piazza or borrow and Olympus Camera and test drive it for FREE from the Mike’s Camera & Olympus booth to capture the color and culture of the Chalk Art Festival and take home a free CD of your pictures.

The winning photographer receives a trip for two any US destination that Southwest Airlines flies to and a New Olympus Digital SLR Camera kit from Mike’s Camera & Olympus.

We’ll have shooting stations set up throughout the zoo and you’ll be able to test drive some of the most exciting new gear from your favorite manufacturers, including Canon, Nikon, Olympus, Tamron, Sony, & Promaster!
