2013 Music in Motion Photography Contest
Presented by the Downtown Denver Partnership and Mike’s Camera
This is your opportunity to find and photograph musicians during Make Music Denver happening Friday June 21st in Downtown Denver. Have your images reviewed by a panel of judges from the Downtown Denver Partnership and Make Music Denver staff!
Entry photographs should showcase the day of musical celebration in Downtown Denver on June 21st in one of the following categories:

When: The event is from 8:00am to 8:00pm on Friday, June 21st, 2013.

Winners: Winners will be contacted on July 12th and posted on Mike’s Camera and Make Music Denver websites and Facebook Pages.

Contest Rules & Directions By submitting an image for Music in Motion Photography Contest you declare you've read these rules and agree to comply to all the condition therein.
Fee: There is no fee to enter.

How to Enter: To enter: email your full name, address, telephone number, and email address, to MakeMusicDenver@downtowndenver.com along with a signed copy of the Terms & Conditions (PDF) and your image(s) according to the following specifications:

a) |
Photographs must be in digital format. Only online entries will be eligible. The photograph need not be taken with a digital camera; scans of negatives, transparencies, or photographic prints are acceptable. All digital files must be between 1- 10 megabytes, must be in JPEG or JPG format, and must be at least 1,600 pixels wide (if a horizontal image) or 1,600 pixels tall (if a vertical image) at 300 dpi. |

Photographs must have been taken on June 21st, in Downtown Denver |

c) |
Minor burning, dodging and/or color correction is acceptable. Hand tinting is acceptable, as is cropping. Fish-eye lenses are acceptable. High dynamic range images (HDR) and stitched panoramas are acceptable only if the combined parts are all made around the same time. |

d) |
The photograph, in its entirety, must be a single work of original material taken by the Contest entrant. By entering the Contest, the entrant represents, acknowledges, and warrants that the submitted photograph the entrant, that the photograph does not infringe on the copyrights, trademarks, moral rights, rights of privacy/publicity or intellectual property rights of any person or entity, and that no other party has any right, title, claim, or interest in the photograph. |

e) |
The photograph must not, in the sole and unfettered discretion of the webmaster, contain obscene, provocative, defamatory, sexually explicit, or otherwise objectionable or inappropriate content. |

f) |
Files should be titled as LastName_FirstName_01Title.jpg. The number should correspond with the number on the submission form. No non-alpha-numeric characters. |

This is your opportunity to find and capture the action of BMX/MTB riders during Outlaws of Dirt, a Dirt and Pump Track Series coming to Lyons 5/31 – June 2. Have your images reviewed by a panel of judges from the experts and Mike’s Camera and get the opportunity to win fantastic prizes!
Photographers ages 18 and older are invited to participate and winning entries will be showcased on the Outlaws of Dirt Photo Contest web site…coming soon.

Judges
Kristina Sheppard http://www.kristinasheppard.com, is a Denver area photographer, photo critic, and freelance writer and editor. With a keen interest in art and architecture, she has been a fan of the Doors Open Denver Photography Competitions from its beginnings in 2009 and has participated in all three competitions with success. She holds a master’s degree from the University of Arizona and is a longtime moderator of Photography Critique, the largest and most active critique group on Flickr, and administrator of Photography Critique.
Dennis Humphries is a principal of Humphries Poli Architects, P.C., the AIA Western Mountain Region Firm of the Year. He is the president of the Denver Architectural Foundation, chair of the Denver Landmark Preservation Commission and was honored with the Silver Medal from the Western Mountain Region of the American Institute of Architects. His work includes the design of public libraries across the US including Jackson Hole, WY, College Station TX, Cornelius, OR and six branches of the acclaimed Anythink Libraries in Colorado.
Brit Probst is a Principal at Davis Partnership Architects in Denver. Over the last twenty-one years he has been involved in many prominent new buildings in Denver. These include the Frederick Hamilton Building at the Denver Art Museum, the Denver Museum of Contemporary Art, the Daniel L. Ritchie Center, the Wolf Law Building at the University of Colorado, and 1600 Glenarm in downtown Denver. Brit is an ardent advocate of sustainable design.
Alex Christianian is the VP of Operations at Mike’s Camera, which operates three specialty photo-imaging superstores in the Denver- Boulder area. He is an avid photographer and his interests include after-capture imaging and digital image manipulation processes, as well as modern and contemporary art. Alex attended the University of Colorado, Boulder and has a BS degree in Marketing and Political Science and also serves on Denver Art Museum - Contemporaries committee.
