Follow us on Facebook to stay informed about workshops like this one and more!

Join Mike's Camera and Hudson Gardens for a three-part macro photography workshop. This class includes an evening classroom instruction at Mike’s Camera in Park Meadows, followed by a Saturday morning walking tour of Hudson Gardens, and a follow up critique session to review images by the group.

What You’ll Learn

Evening Lecture at Mike’s Camera in Park Meadows will include guidelines and tips for better picture taking at Hudson Gardens including tips for the proper macro equipment to photograph the botanical gardens. In addition, we will go over tools and accessories that will help you in capturing better images and discuss composition, and exposure value.

Sunday’s Workshop at Hudson Gardens will be led by Mike’s Camera staff Joe Klocek and Scott Dougherty. Working with Joe and Scott, you’ll have the opportunity to photograph irises, roses, lilies, herbs, vegetables, water features, beehives, birds and much more! The Mike’s Camera staff will always be nearby to assist you with technical questions and provide hands-on instruction to ensure you execute best practices and capture the best shot possible.

Follow up Critique at Mike’s Camera in Park Meadows. Wrap up the workshop with a fun and rewarding critique with our instructor Joe. The group will review images from the day at Hudson Gardens and share techniques that really worked, and those that were not as useful. You’ll be astonished by the immense variety of images that will have been captured and spend some time giving and receiving positive and informative feedback.
