Join Mike's Camera and The Denver Art Museum of for a special event not to be missed with Canon Explorer of Light Tyler Stableford. An award-winning adventure photographer and filmmaker, Tyler takes the audience behind the scenes of his latest assignments, from exploring rare ice caves to documenting the dangerous lives of underground coal miners.
Tyler will also screen his latest DSLR short films including his 2012 film festival project, "Shattered." A teacher at heart, Tyler reveals his secrets to capturing that elusive “dramatic moment.” He knows how to shoot action first-hand and will share his experiences, insights and tips for elevating your images.
This program is for anyone interested in learning more about the exciting world of action/extreme sports and outdoor photography as well as gaining an insight on creating films with the new breed of HD-DSLR cameras.
About Tyler Stableford
Tyler Stableford has earned an international clientele for his work, and Men’s Journal named him one of the seven “World’s Greatest Adventure Photographers.” He is one of Canon’s distinguished Explorers of Light, as well as an ambassador for Adobe Systems and the SanDisk Extreme Team.
Tyler has won numerous awards from Communication Arts, Photo District News, the International Photography Awards, American Photography and National Geographic Traveler. Tyler will keep you spell-bound with his incredible photographs, how and what he used to get them and many very instructional segments on high-speed flash, commercial product shoots, National Guard, and of his video "Shattered", about ice-climbing and the mental and physical tolls involved. He shot this movie on an EOS 1DX last November in the Crested Butte/Telluride area.
Tyler is an extremely accomplished ice-climber/skier/and overall snow sports enthusiast and competed professionally in his 20's. Tyler currently lives in the mountains near Basalt, CO.

Parking Lots & Meters
The most convenient place to park, the garage at 12th Avenue and Broadway, opens daily at 6 am. Enter the garage from 12th Avenue just west of Broadway. Parking rates, which start at $1 per hour, are posted inside the entrance.
There are also several unattended parking lots and hundreds of metered parking spaces are located within walking distance of the museum. Note: Some metered parking spaces in the area are FREE after 6:00PM.
